Baochong is known as the signature tea of Taiwan, carrying the fragrance of tropical flowers and fruit native to the island. With low level oxidation, this tea is barely considered an oolong, still retaining qualities of an exceptional green tea. The bright, fresh green leaves offer a light flavor profile with a honey suckle finish, and the heavenly bouquet aroma characteristic of a quality Taiwanese oolong. A tea that can be enjoyed on an everyday basis.

Mr. Lee of Wenshan, Taiwan, is one such tea master. One of three sons of a tea master who grew and produced Baochong oolong teas, he is the only brother remaining at the farm. Nowadays, more glamorous occupations abound. Mr. Lee points to the cuts on his hands; having to manage four hillsides' worth of teas on his own is next to impossible. Mr. Lee's father's grave remains carefully kept in the center of one of the hillsides, as do all the groves of bamboo, tree size gardenias, and wild ginger flowers that grow all over his farm. 

Steeping Guidelines:

• 5g or 1.5Tbsp | 8oz. @ 190˚F | 1 minute
• May be re-steeped multiple times.
• Use a porcelain or glass teapot.
• Drain completely and serve.
