2017 Ancient Tree Jing Mai Moonlight White

This tea is made from fresh leaves picked and placed on a ventilated, roof-covered sun shed or in an open space shaded from the sun. After 5 to 7 days, the tea has been embraced with fragrance and has released much of its astringency, allowing for the sweet taste to come through. This is a main part of processing for Moonlight White (月光白 Yue Guang Bai). The raw material is selectively harvested as one-bud, one-leaf from 300+ years old ancient trees in Jing Mai Shan (景邁山) in Yunnan, China. The pressed cake displays an abundance of thick, fuzzy white buds among the dark-colored leaves. 

Upon rinsing the leaves before the first steep, we enjoy an aroma reminiscent of sweet floral. The first steep is noticeably like like honey liquid. Clean and nectar-like, 2017 is more floral than 2015 Ancient Tree Moonlight White from the earthy-sweet, subtle bite that our 2012 Ancient Tree Moonlight White offers.  

Steeping Guidelines:

• 6g or 1.5Tbsp | 6 oz. @ 205˚F | 1 minute
• May be re-steeped multiple times.
• Use a porcelain or Yixing teapot.
• Drain completely and serve.
