2012 Ancient Tree Jing Mai Moonlight White

This tea is made from fresh leaves picked and placed on a ventilated, roof-covered sun shed or in an open space shaded from the sun. After 5 to 7 days, the tea has been embraced with fragrance and has released much of its astringency, allowing for the sweet taste to come through. This is a main part of processing for Moonlight White (月光白 Yue Guang Bai). The raw material is from 100+ years old ancient trees in Jing Mai Shan (景邁山) in Yunnan. 

The first steep has a hint of dry hay, and is characteristic of white tea with strong sweet aroma & light earthy note. It feels as if you have stepped into the dry forest, and is refreshing & smooth. With the second steep, you start to get notes of sweet dried fruit. The more you steep the tea, the more it starts to resemble a black tea profile.

Steeping Guidelines:

• 6g or 1.5Tbsp | 6oz. @ 205˚F | 1 minute
• May be re-steeped multiple times.
• Use a porcelain or Yixing teapot.
• Drain completely and serve.
