From Marukyu-Koyama En, one of the great matcha producers in Uji, Kyoto, Japan, Matcha Wakatake is ideal for baking, cooking, and making hot or iced matcha lattes. Matcha is incredibly versatile when it comes to food, adding a bright, umami flavor  to any baked goods and beverages. Made from shade-grown green tea leaves, the vibrant green color and flavor of this high quality stone-milled matcha retains throughout the cooking or blending process. 

 

Our local wholesale customers have been using our Matcha Wakatake for years in their delicious recipes, including Oakland Bake Sum's baked goods and Berkeley Iyasare's dipping powder for Kakiage Tempura to enhance the experience when enjoying the tempura. Another local wholesale customer Caravaggio Gelateria Italiana uses Matcha Wakatake to make gelato.
