Mrs. Yeh reflects (translated):
"Sometimes, strength isn't about conquering anyone, but about learning to stand tall and firm even in the face of adversity. Ya Pa Phang 鴨霸香 opens with a powerful presence and ends with a gentle finish, like the quiet strength in life."
Apt at the transition into the Yang Fire Horse Year, the Yeh family gifts us with a tea that is much like the Horse: power and strength integrated with sensitivity and gentleness. One does not come without the other; in fact, each complement and need one another. The depth of Ya Pa Phang 鴨霸香 isn't just a packed punch, but a graceful unfolding of subtle layers. May the quiet strength of this tea be a reminder that power comes in many forms.
Steeping Guidelines:
The teas are produced at the Yeh family farm at Da An, Shan Lin Xi 杉林溪 at an elevation of 1500 meters. Fog-drenched peaks dense with groves of towering bamboo and gingko trees create a unique, biodynamic farming environment that supports the rich complexity of this tea. The property has a modern 5-star facility for processing tea as well as an ancient house over 100 years old. Three generations of the Yeh family have lived in the house. The Yeh family takes pride in the care that they apply to the land and the tea plants on the farm.
