From Their Hands to Yours
You may not know Korean tea yet—but once you taste it, you won’t forget it.
High in the misty mountains of Boseong, South Korea, predominantly elderly women—covered head to toe to protect themselves from the sun—spend their days harvesting tea by hand. It’s quiet work. Intentional work. Passed down through generations. And it’s at risk of disappearing.
This tasting invites you to experience five single-origin, organically grown Korean teas—each one tied to a specific farm, a specific harvest, and the hands that made it possible.
These aren’t mass-produced blends. They’re expressions of place, of season, and of memory. You’ll taste subtle shifts in weather, soil, and craftsmanship with every cup.
More than a beverage, tea is a cultural ritual—an act of care, of connection, of slowing down. I hope this moment allows you to feel that.
Cheers,

This tasting is an invitation into that journey. Together, we’ll explore five hand-picked, organically grown Korean teas, each carrying a story of tradition, resilience, and artistry.
-
Chrysanthemum Joonjak (국화 준작) – A rare, floral blend of summer-harvested green tea and wild chrysanthemum blossoms. Soft and honeyed, with soothing aromatics, this tea bridges the world of green tea and gentle herbal infusions.
-
Woojeon (우전) – The prized first flush of spring, picked before the monsoon rains. With bright vegetal notes, oceanic undertones, and a buttery finish, Woojeon captures the delicacy of early Korean spring.
-
Sejak (세작) – Harvested just after Woojeon, Sejak balances freshness with depth. Nutty and round, it offers a smooth umami finish—an elegant reflection of Korea’s unique tea-making techniques.
-
Hong Cha (홍차) – Korea’s take on black tea is unexpectedly smooth, with natural sweetness and notes of cacao, dried fruit, and spice. A refined red tea that offers warmth and quiet complexity.
-
Chong Tae Jeon (청태전) – A living relic from the Goryeo Dynasty, this rare post-fermented tea was created by buddhist monks, used as money, and has been brought back after 1000 years of not being produced. Earthy, piney, and gently sweet, it deepens with each steep—offering a dynamic and evolving experience across multiple infusions.
My personal (Tsering Alleyne) journey towards wellness led me on a path of discovery with Korean tea. As I followed my genuine curiosity and excitement about tea I learned that although tea had been grown in Korea for over a thousand years, it is little known globally and at risk due to an aging farming population. It was a moment of clarity: Korean tea, with its rich heritage and unparalleled craftsmanship, deserved to be shared with the world.
Tea is more than a drink—it is an experience, a ritual, a way to slow down and connect. I invite you to join me in rediscovering Korean tea, to taste its history, and to become part of the movement bringing it to the world.
