Intense aromatics and complex flavor make this oolong from old-growth tea trees on Phoenix Mountain, Guangdong, China delightfully engaging. To ensure this tea’s particular honey fragrance blooms atop the characteristic body of fruit and spice flavors, each leaf must be processed by hand and lightly charcoal-roasted in order to retain its bright green center within a deep red perimeter. A perfume that coats the whole palate lingers without end. This transformation of this tea from steep to steep is a joy to experience. A true connoisseur tea!
Tasting Notes (6/18/2020):
The aroma of the wet leaves is reminiscent of Kearn's guava nectar. There is an intense tropical fragrance, uplifted by a sweet honey base. The liquid has a fine balance between honey sweet and subtle astringency. Very smooth.
