Join us for a special guided tasting exploring the rich and diverse tea cultures of Indigenous communities across India, with Poorvi, founder of Herbs & Kettles, co-hosted by Teance Fine Tea.
Long before tea became a global commodity, Indigenous communities across India cultivated, crafted, and enjoyed distinctive teas rooted in their lands, cultures, and traditions. This experience invites you to discover these largely unfamiliar tea traditions, the people who sustain them, and the stories behind each cup.
Through a guided tasting and a presentation featuring sourcing journeys across India, Poorvi will share the cultural significance of these teas, how they are made, and the communities continuing to preserve centuries-old knowledge and practices.
The Tasting Experience
Explore a selection of distinctive teas from Indigenous communities across Northeast India, including:
- Naga Khalap

Each tea offers a glimpse into the remarkable diversity of India's tea heritage, shaped by local landscapes, traditional craftsmanship, and generations of knowledge.
Meet Your Guide: Poorvi of Herbs & Kettles
Founded by Abe and Poorvi, both practicing physicians based in Atlanta, Herbs & Kettles brings together a passion for wellness and a deep appreciation for exceptional Indian teas.
Poorvi, an Indian tea educator, travels across India to work directly with small, sustainable farmers, sourcing seasonal, single-origin, and single-batch teas that reflect the unique character of their terroir.
Through Herbs & Kettles, she celebrates the people, places, and traditions behind every tea, connecting tea lovers with remarkable flavors and the communities that preserve them.
