A special, limited offering of our 'King's Grade' Honey Jia Long—an exceptional oolong known for its evolving flavor profile over time. Even the weather plays a role in how it tastes; as one farmer once asked me, “Do you have four seasons in California?”—explaining how each brew can offer a distinct experience depending on the environment.
A yet-to-be-patented, anaerobic processing technique gives this highly limited tea a one-of-a-kind character. Mr. Chen's confidential processing technique increases the tea's natural content of GABA, a rare neurotransmitter responsible for regulating stress and sleep. Known by the locals of Wenshan, Taiwan as “Jia Long,” its heady fragrance and broad, mead-like sweetness rests atop rich, honeyed low notes, which gain added depth and complexity from aging. Highly oxidized and unroasted, its character hints toward that of a fine red tea, while still maintaining the complexity and aromatics of the oolong that it is. We find it to be one of the most superb teas in our collection.

Each year reveals its own distinct character:

- 6g or 1.25Tbsp | 8oz. @ 195-205˚F | 45 seconds
- May be re-steeped multiple times.
- Use a porcelain or yixing teapot.
