Introduction to Black Tea – Lapsang Souchong
Lapsang Souchong is a unique, historically significant tea from the Tongmu Guan region of Wuyishan, Fujian. Its production process is longer than that of traditional Gongfu-style black tea and includes an additional stage of smoke-drying over pinewood fires. This imparts the tea with a characteristic smoky aroma and dried longan flavor. It was also the first tea exported to England in the 17th century, cherished as a royal delicacy.
