Our Ali Shan High Mountain Red Tea is from a tea farm in Shi Zhuo that has been farmed for over 40 years and is operated by the 2nd generation of the family.  The site is high on the peak of Zhu Qi at 1500-1600 meters.  Although fully oxidized as a red tea it is rolled like an oolong. 

Ali Shan tea is a high mountain tea grown on misty peaks in the central mountains of Taiwan. It is a relatively new tea to the scene, appearing only several decades ago. Ali Shan tea originated from the tea estates on Ali Mountain and quickly became popular in Taiwan. It is a slow growing tea and is harvested only twice a year. This slower growth results in a deep flavor that is prized by many tea enthusiasts.

Besides its deep and complex flavor profile, Ali Shan tea is known for having a floral and slightly sweet taste to it. The texture is light and creamy on the tongue. This tea is great for multiple infusions and will keep its flavor long after the first steep.

Steeping Guidelines:

• 6g or 1Tbsp | 8oz. @ 205˚F | 1 minute
• May be re-steeped multiple times
• Use a porcelain or yixing teapot.
• Drain completely and serve
