A top grade typically reserved for government officials, Shui Jin Gui (“Water Golden Turtle”) is a rare and rarely exported varietal from the renowned Wuyi region. Just 10 cm. beneath the soil, soft white Wuyi rock is easily split by growing tea roots, nourishing the plants with a unique mineral profile. Twisted and charcoal-baked in the traditional oolong-making style, this velvety tea is softer and sweeter than other Wuyi varietals, with distinctive butterscotch and chocolate notes brightened by a hint of longan fruit.
