Ball Top Yixing Teapot
This product is unavailable
The ball atop a temple roof is a motif referring to a reverence for the spiritual. In this teapot, the artist connects the experience of a quiet moment with tea, to the meditativeness of being in a space of a spiritual temple. Classic red Zisha clay from Yixing, China, from the original ore. Bulging round belly with a smaller opening implies that the pot is designed for pearl shaped oolongs whose leaves need to open up to larger spaces, while the smaller top seals and traps the higher temperatures required for such teas. Delicate and balanced handle and fast pour spout ensures rapid dispensing without over-steeping the leaves.
