Pure, naturally sweet green teas from the Uji, Kyoto region are famed for their superior terroir—what the Japanese call “the fragrance of the place.” Made from stems of our Gyokuro, grown shaded with wara (river weeds) and nourished by the Ujita River, this tea captures the varietal’s famed essence at a fraction of the cost. The tea stems contain less caffeine than the leaves, so Kukicha is perfect for those looking for a lightly caffeinated, everyday treat.

Kukicha is easy to prepare compared to other Japanese green teas, as it is less likely to over-brew to astringency. 

Steeping Guidelines:
4g or 1t | 8oz. @ 170˚F | 45 seconds
Use a glass or porcelain teapot. Drain completely and serve. 
Please re-infuse 5 or more times.
