Handmade Kyo-yaki Chawan
This handmade chawan, or matcha bowl, is a fine example of traditional Kyoto-style ceramics. The bowl itself is lightweight and delicate. Hand-painted floral designs adorn the front and inside of the tea bowl, giving the artwork a sense of elegant dimensionality. The glaze features subtle, intentional crackles, which will slightly darken and season over time with use. A chawan of this quality would make a great addition to any collection, and, like all fine tea ware, is worthy of being passed down as a family heirloom.
