Pu-erh is meant to be fermented and aged, and to taste sweeter and more complex over time. Made by the Meng Hai Factory for Zhong Cha brand (Central Tea Company), the largest semi-private tea company in China, this is thoroughly a Pu-erh aficionado's blend of Sheng larger leaves that age well, and softer, smaller leaves that have been fermented to be enjoyed immediately. Like vintages of wine, continued aging will yield even better tastes but if one wants to enjoy today, it is also well balanced. Typically, the best matured age for this type of Shu Bingcha is at 15 years of age, so with any luck, collecting this Bingcha means being able to enjoy its max potential any time, for it has been aged under natural humidity in Asia for the past 12 years already- a rare collector's item!
