Feng Chi brought tea seeds and plants back to his villagers in Taiwan
from the mainland, and subsequently, tea has grown in this area since
the mid 1800s. Known as the center of the world of tea in Taiwan,
prestigious competitions are held here every season. Featured Teas Four Seasons Oolong, Jin Shuan Oolong, Jin Shuan Organic, Aged Nantou
Taste Notes: Exceptional fragrance and greener oxidation level than most Oolongs. Vegetal and slightly astringent aftertaste (‘gan’)
Four Seasons Oolong One of the new
varietals developed by Taiwan in the 1980s, its name reminds one that
this Oolong is so productive it can be harvested year round. High
floral fragrance, lighter body.
Jin Shuan Oolong
One of the new
varietals developed by Taiwan in the 1980s, a stronger, more pest
resistant varietals with a milky aroma. Some call this the Creamy
Oolong. Tiny leafhoppers are invited to patronize the leaves of the Jin
Shuan tea plants so that the acrid tastes are removed, leaving only the
sweet.
