Teas
are meant to be consumed fresh, seasonal, and farm direct. In the past,
because of transportation issues, fresh teas could not survive long, 6
month journeys. Today however, teas harvested at the farm can now
reach us the next week. Enjoy the peak seasons of these white, green,
and oolong teas!
White and Green Teas have only one harvest season per year, and that is April to May.
Oolong teas are harvested in May to June, and the winter season crops are harvested in October to November. Some Oolongs are late summer harvest if scented with flowers or other herbs.
Red/Black teas are harvested year round but generally best in the spring, especially First Flush teas. Pu-Er teas have less seasonality as they are fermented and often aged.
