
Green teas are appreciated for their fresh, vegetal, sweetness. They have been pan-fired or steamed to retain their color and nutrients, and indeed, green teas have been found to be rich in polyphenol anti-oxidants and vitamins and nutrients. Generally the most delicate of all teas, many of the finest green teas, such as Dragon Well, are picked in the early spring through the late summer. Reputed to increase concentration, prevent heart disease, osteoporosis, and many types of cancer; there are many reasons to find your favorite daily green tea. The tastes range from sweet, nutty, buttery, smoky, marshy, and floral depending on the location and time of year where the tea was picked. Green teas should be prepared at 180 degrees F or less to taste the sweetness inherent in the leaves.
