White teas are plucked from the downy premature leaves of the White Tea varietal, and represent the most natural form of teas processed for consumption. Grown in the northern part of Fujian called Fuding at the hills near Tai Mu Mountain, White teas are highly seasonal and available in the early parts of Spring each year. The Chinese value them for their health properties and delicate nature. White teas are reputed to be higher in antioxidants than green teas based on Western medicinal findings. All white teas are extremely low in caffeine, which also makes them a delicious pure leaf tea to drink at night or throughout the day. Handpicked only. For more White Tea options, check out our FreeLeaf. Please note, all authentic White Teas are offered here! Many teas represented as 'White' are not necessarily from the White Tea Varietal or grown in its place of origin at Fuding, Fujian.
